With it being a Friday and my flight not going out until 4pm the next day I didn’t mind that the drinks kept coming. I was having a good time and so... was he. I remember it quite vividly when he first touched me and it was a hand on my shoulder as he set down my sixth or seventh gin and tonic of the evening. To say I was a bit sozzled was more or less the case at that point and, of course, Steve was the gentleman and he saw me to my room. After letting me in the door he was still the gentleman. The drive is through the desert and on Interstate 8 you don’t have many stopping places. I drove the first hour through San Diego and the eastern suburbs and soon I was out in the desert. I passed the time listening to the radio and smoking cigarettes and enjoying the warm weather. It was very warm and I drove either with the air conditioning on or with the window open slightly (I didn’t want to mess up my new wig). It was amazing that almost every man that passed me tried to make eye contact.. I moaned. It still was so painful to move.. And then he did something I didnt expect him to do. He hugged me. I felt my panic subside. I just sobbed quietly into his shoulder. He wont let them hurt me... ran through my mind. No.. but if he belongs to nobody, I could claim him.... I heard one of the men say. Do you have a license? Well, no, but.... Then you have no right to catch humans. Even if they aint owned by anybody. I could report you, you know. I am sure the mall security will like you. Today was one of those odd days, but it started with a very ordinary class: English. During it, a student came in and passed a note to my teacher, who called out, "Mark Anderson, report to Mr. Millane in the gym." I didn't know a Mr. Millane, but this class was English so I was more than happy to report to anyone anywhere.I recognized Mr. Millane when I saw him, he's the school's track coach. I said, "I'm Mark Anderson. You sent for me?" I heard about your 10k win. I want you to join our track.
