He could remember that day so vividly. She was so beautiful! A hundred people were gathered in the pews to watch as they exchanged vows, but he had no... sense of them. She was all he could see as they promised each other they would be together ‘Till Death Do Us Part.’ Throughout their marriage he had never broken those vows, but now he was about to. He closed his eyes and smiled. If he could have told anyone he would have sworn the last sound he heard was the music of her laughter. Two hours. Walking along the beachfront, Taylor could see what he meant. The beach was like any other: families scattered about, kids playing in the surf and a few single people in clusters. In the distance he saw a sign with a perimeter of empty sand around it. It looked like a militarized zone.It was a hike. Taylor let Jacob lead while he trailed by a couple yards. They were nearing the empty stretch, when someone called out.“Taylor! Is that you?” Turning, he saw one of his teammates, Bud, sitting up in. This would be productive! It will be nice to have some "me" time her mind lies to her. It will only be a few weeks! Yes at the beginning it was palatable. Maybe even enjoyable? But that was just a wisp of wishful thinking. Yes, she did get a few things done, a couple of books read, a movie or two watched. But as those projects started to come to there completion,the drudgery of it all came into being. Her mind started to wander to those dark places she loathed to visit. Destinations better left. The conditions set Howard off again. For a supposedly devout Baptist, the judge sure could swear. I left him to think about it, and told him I’d drop by tomorrow.I had a late lunch with Belle and Connie, then held training for the women who would be working in the club. I wanted to try to emulate the level of service that I’d experienced at the Playboy Club in Las Vegas. The training did not go even the slightest as I had envisioned, as the women kept breaking out in laughter as I demonstrated.
