It was only after I'd witnessed it myself that I believed it. As it happens I came home from work early one Thursday afternoon. We'd had a power outa...ge at work and it wouldn't be fixed until sometime Friday, if then. When I turned the corner of our street I saw a car in our driveway that I wasn't familiar with, at least I didn't remember it right then. As I pulled into the drive-way though I recognized it as the vehicle one of my co-workers had gotten just a few months earlier, a sky blue. New arrivals were having a fuck before they did anything else and Jana saw that all the poles were circled by a group of men cheering and laughing. She saw smoke rising from two locations on either side of the main stage and could just barely see a couple of spits turning but she was too far away to see what was roasting. There was a huge structure in front of the stage. It looked like a giant sun made of wood with a huge pile of straw all around the base. Three poles had been installed on both. I started crying softly, “I won’t tell anyone but please stop.” Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, “Heather are you ok in there?” it was my mom. “Shit” Tyler whispered as he fixed my dress and cleaned up my face. “Go tell her you’re fine.” He said kissing my cheek. i walked to the door opening it, i saw my mom in her white dress. “I’m fine mom the food just got to me is all.” i said looking down finding the fact my makeup was runny from crying. “oh ok dear. if you see Tyler tell him i’m. I was out for a night of fun in one of my regular clubs dressed for the kill in a short red pleated skirt red top and four inch open toe shoes, I was having a drink with one of my regular friends there and this guy walked in catching my attention I don’t know why but I knew it was him, it was like it was glowing with a light on him and his eyes on me. I stop in my tracks walking towards him our eyes focased on each other when I reach him and before I could even speak he said ‘Monica’ he knew it.
