They talked as they walked, about photography, and life in general, what they did for a living, kids, and their respective late spouses. It was a tim...e of discovery for both of them. They snapped pictures as they walked, the forest greens, the sky blues, and wispy clouds that had floated in for the time being. The day was gorgeous, warm for the mountain summer, and they both shed the light jackets they were wearing. The walk to the lower falls was gentle, easy, and the pictures they each got. ’ Mike stared in disbelief at his mother’s beautiful, glistening face. He leapt from his bed like a scalded cat. His back hit the wall of his room and he stood there, the shock washing over him. ‘Michael, don’t push me away,’ his mother, Jennifer, cooed to him. She rose from his bed like a goddess and took a step towards him. ‘Stop!’ he commanded. Obediently, she complied. ‘Don’t you want me, Michael? After your father died, I needed someone to help me, to care for me. I thought it was you. I. We are ordered to turn around and rejoin the fleet to protect them," Lieutenant Mark Zane reported.Captain Mike Bonnet of the USS Badger watched as the Oregon slipped past them as he issued his orders. "Very well Mark, Helm, turn the Badger and get us back to the fleet."Aye, aye, Captain, turning and rejoining the fleet," reported Ensign Barbra Howel.The two-mile long assault cruiser turned around and headed back for the fleet, her sister ship right behind her. Five minutes after they turned. “Holy horse feathers, and I have his daughter working for me. I need to salute you when I come to work.” He snapped to attention and gave a mock salute.“NO!” Jenny said with a slight chuckle. “I had the hardest time in high school and college near the base because everyone knew. Nobody wanted to date me and if they did, they were all on their best behavior, some hoping to curry favor on behalf of their parents with my father in some way.
