Kyle greets the security guard while Kathleen starts removing their purchases from the back of the Jeep. “How did everything go today, Mike?” Kyle... asks.“No problems. You had a few calls, but I let the answering machine take the messages.”“Thanks. Mike, I want you to meet my fiancée, Kathleen Kennedy.”“Miss Kennedy, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”“Thank you, Mike. I feel the same.”Mike asks, “Kyle, do you need me anymore tonight?”“No. You can head home. I don’t think I’ll need you tomorrow until. As I near the stone pier I pause and a slow sanguine smile begins to cross my lips. There are hundreds of souls, gathering there. No even more than that perhaps as more seem to be arriving as I watch. They look to my light but unlike the majority of the souls that have come here, these men do not flinch back. My smile becomes a toothy grin. ‘War, oh thou scaly beast. Thy doth raise thine grim head again once more,’ I say in joyful glee. A single man, somewhat grimmer of vicissitude, approaches. I took my drink and wiggled my way through the crowded dance floor to get closer to this attractive woman. Her eyes followed my every move, it felt like she was pulling towards her direction. She stood in a dark corner near the DJ booth, the strobe light would reflect on her face every couple seconds or so to reveal a pretty face with a sweet smile. We really didn't waste time with pleasantries as there was an apparent attraction between us. It was hard to keep a conversation over the loud. .. is infinitely more precious than mere sexual satisfaction. That, perhaps, is why the couples spent more time talking softly, making and remaking plans, making promises, and trying to order the future, before it got there. They wanted to keep the dream alive, and all those preparations, even though everyone should have known things rarely work out as originally planned, made them feel like they were nailing down the future, and the dream with it.There was, of course, the last minute, frenzied.
