" Mr. Ultra cleared his voice. "The outfit needed repairs and was sent to the local costume shop at the mall. We need you to go pick it up." No proble...m boss." Sherman said as he left the office and passed cubes of faceless employees to the elevators in back. He took the elevator to the underground garage and his car. "I forgot to ask which costume shop it was." Sherman realized as he went into the mall and remembered there were two of three stores that could be considered costume shops.. "I didn't hurt anymore. I didn't feel much of anything. I seemed to be drifting, as in a dream. Hands helped me up from the bed, and assisted me walking a few stumbling steps across the room, before I faded once again into blackness.*****I lost count of the times I dreamt that I walked, always with the gentle help of careful hands, though how I knew I walked is strange, as I had no other awareness than that, the light, and the quiet voices I could not comprehend.*****I woke in a bright sunny. "He laughed back. He had Angel's old familiar smile, and his large brown eyes twinkled like hers used to. He said, "We control---this end---of the Second Floor." That was the way Angel used to talk, two or three words at a time, when she had an important point to make. His voice, high for a male, was nearly the same as hers."Young man," said my mother, politely shaking Angel's hand, "I hope you're comfortable with the decision you've made." Do I look uncomfortable?" Angel replied. "I've known. Out of habit, he looked around to double check his surroundings and carefully lifted the lid, as if someone were listening for the soft plastic sliding apart. Blocked by the angle of the window and the cabinet door, Lisa was struggling to see what he was doing under the TV, as he could merely be playing video games, but she could see him paying quite a bit of attention to his hardened member and there was only one thing in the cabinet that could be used for that. “OH I wonder….” She thought.
