I was impressed to learn about her Uni studies. She was 2 years into a 3-year PhD in astronomy. She had a scholarship which she had to supplement with... part-time work during term time and full-time during the summer. Her tiny flat near Uni and her aging car kept her poor. Her studies required her to spend a few days each quarter at an observatory in the mountains west of Sydney, or at a radio-observatory further north. She had to explain to me what a radio-telescope is and how radio and optical. Finally she sighed, smiled back at me, and relented. I grabbed my iPhone from my truck, and texted my friend, who promised to be only twenty minutes.I closed her hood, and with theJeep situation handled, we began an easy back and forth of small talk. I knew her name was Kaylin, she was a first year student, a Vet. major, and seemingly unsure of herself on many fronts. She kept saying that she was "stupid" for not knowing what to do about her Jeep, and "an idiot" for bugging so many people about. “I dropped the cables Jerry; can you see ok?” she asked as she bent her head down seeing I was in an awkward position with my head more or less between her knees. I could certainly see perfectly but I think she was referring to the cables which I couldn’t see and somehow needed to twist round, again I needed Pips help.“Pip, can you grab my hips and twist me around” I asked and she got on to her knees and grabbed my hips on either side, she seemed to be a bit cautious but eventually got me.
