“I guess” I shrugged, and smiled back.Everyone started showing up to the party around seven. Uncle Steve made introductions as they arrived. There... were the neighbors, Bill and Lynne. Uncle Steve’s best friend Dan, and his girlfriend Selena. Uncle Steve’s work buddy Chris, his wife Lisa and their son Brad. Brad was a couple years older than me and kinda cute, but not my type. He looked like a football jock who was full of himself. And then my parents. And me, of course.And then there was. This had been going on for the last ten years and I had pretty much adjusted to the fact that every eight months or so I was going to go 'out of service' for two or three months and while my wife Sally wasn't happy about she too learned to live with it. We managed fine for a little over nine years and then things got bad. The eight months of good times ended and the out of service time began, but this time it lasted longer than two or three months.It had been fourteen months now since I had. I tried to read her soul through her eyes but got nowhere. She likewise tried that with me, also to no avail.Oh shit, I thought, here goes nothing. I leaned toward her and gently placed my lips against hers, not knowing how she would react, not even able to make an intelligent guess.It was like an eternity as I waited. It just happened one day out of the blue, I was home alone as mum was atwork and the girls had gone shopping or something, when I had this urgeto try on some of my sisters clothes, I have to this day found no reasonwhy, but I did, first I stripped off my clothes and put them in thebathroom so that if anyone came home unexpectedly I could rush to thebathroom and change.
